 Fine and sturdy product. Great results.Jul 18, 2010
This product keeps going strong after multiple uses. I was careful with it based on some reviews, but I found that I had to stretch slowly more so that the shoe stitches didn't break rather than the stretcher. This has worked fine to stretch a pair of shoes to accomodate a bunion, so I'm very pleased.
One note for use. If the hook is unscrewed too far and separates from the widening bolt in the front, it can be difficult to re-thread. No big deal. This may seem to some like the threads are stripped (explaining some reviews), but the threads look to me to be very robust. Using some patience and preventing the front bolt from spinning to re-thread the hook is all that is needed. This product is sturdy.
Sizing may be on the small side. Not for me, but this is a note only. I am using the Men's size 8.5-10.5 to stretch a size 8.5 shoe, and I am 2/3 of the way to the end in the final stretch. I don't know where a size 10 shoe would leave you if you needed a significant stretch. A lot of stretch for a 10 or 10.5 shoe may put you into the large size stretcher.
These are not product deficiencies, but just the nature of the thing. I highly recommend this stretcher to anyone who needs to stretch a shoe from time to time and expects the device to last a long time, as it seems that this should. Anyone who needs 2 stretchers should have bought a larger pair of shoes; I really need a wider shoe for one foot only.
The wood is solid and finished nicely. A second bag of inserts would have been handy, but I have had my success. I hope you can, too.

This stretch has enough little inserts to stretch the shoe in the most needed areas. It worked well when I left the stretcher in my shoes for several days.
