Great shoe keeper!May 17, 2010 Absolute best way to keep the form for one of your most important investments: quality dress shoes. Top of the line! Keeps shoes fresh and leather from cracking under pressure. Great for travel. Especially useful for men with larger shoe sizes.
Really NICE shoe tree...Mar 25, 2010 ... though it does have one fundamental drawback to it, which I'll get to later...
I wear size 9D Magli, Testoni, and Ferragamo leather dress shoes and boots, which are all cut very narrow and tapered at the toe. The good news is this size medium shoe tree looks and feels phenomenal, and is every bit as advertised. The Cedar woods texture is very smooth and highly finished with a nice aromatic scent. Overall build quality appears exceptional. Weight IMO is substantial, giving off this inert presence to it you really have to see to appreciate. Simply push it into your shoe and voila, it magically expands and nicely fills out your shoe end to end. That round metal knob and oval placard visually just wreaks of royalty, and makes your shoe feel and look like a million bucks. For the money, it just doesn't get any better to be truthful, and is worth every penny. It works great on my loafers, oxfords, and even my chukka boots.
The only real drawback is what it doesn't do, which is push up on the front of the shoe. Most men's leather shoes immediately start creasing naturally along the front third of the shoe, just behind the toe area. A well designed shoe tree in my estimation should first and foremost lift and hold up this front area of the shoe, basically preventing the front wear creases from "setting in". This shoe tree unfortunately does not do this at all, as it mostly concentrates itself snugly along the sides of the shoe. So it's a toss up to be honest, the Woodlore shoe tree is beautifully built, regal in design, and does about 80% of what a good shoe tree should. That said, it will not keep the upper front of your shoe in good form. I know I'm nit-picking, but it is food for thought.
In conclusion, this shoe tree for all intensive purposes is a must have for all your finely made shoes in your rotation, for its benefits far outweigh its single minor drawback.

A quality productDec 06, 2007 I wasn't aware of cedar tree inserts until I bought my last pair of nice work shoes. These guys keep your shoe shaped, crease and crack free and absorb moisture... which may cause bad odors. These trees from Woodlore are well made, great smelling shoe inserts. The shoe is spring loaded and has an attractive brass knob as a handle. I ordered four pair at once and none of the trees had any manufacturing issues or flaws.
